If fear had a colour it would be black
If fear had a smell it would be a stench as death
If fear had a face it would be grotesque
If fear had a mission it would be death
Fear would make the perfect excuse of my absence and my wavering devotion. It's exhausting that fear had reserved a suite in my mind, swimming in my blood ,using my nerves as debit cards and my heart beats as debit alerts.
The aura for this blog post might be a bit of black and greys for my mood is not light as I battle the fear in my mind. And yes I write this out of that fear which I harbour.
Fear you say?
Fear is the eerisome whisper of things that would cause demise, the pinch of doubt induced by something or someone, an unpleasant emotion of dread of the unknown.
Are you human?
If yes (obviously, or wait do we have any Marsian in the house? Are you from Mars? You are not exempted, for we plan to conquer your planet , enslave your people and steal your technology, so yes you should fear) fear is that which you've subjected to constant suppression, that faceless enemy slowly appetising on your happiness and snacking on your joy . For every mental and physical pain are birth from fear in its promiscuity, It hovers over you telling you millions of lies
"
You aren't good enough"
" You're a disappointment "
"You're a fraud"
"Forget applying for that post, they'd never select you"
" Try something smaller, this project wouldn't work out"
"You're wasting your time, all your efforts would be wasted as always"
"You can never be as good"
The chants become louder and your productivity falls faster. You fall back to your indiscipline and forget your goal momentarily, it strips you of your handwork, your talent and self mastery. You become as frail as a seaweed, lacking routine and self discipline. You crown yourself a seeker of surreal things and seek to escape reality.
Are you ruled by Fear?
What if I told you can turn that fear to power? Yes you can optimise that fear by converting it to productivity.
Fear can be controlled unless in severe medical psychological conditions of anxiety. Fear is a cheat sheet when used efficiently.
Controlling your fear to your advantage
I'd keep this simple and as basic as possible.
What do you fear?
Failure? Death? Well a better percentage would be failure but not overlooking the fear of death lurking behind the minds of many. Fear of failure is simply the fear of failing driven by thoughts of "not enough".You can't seem to take that next step or upgrade because of fear you could fail and that would have a daunting effect on you so you'd rather abstain.
Think of it like this, fear is like a warning bell in your head providing an outline of the possibilities of probable unsuccessfulness, it proceeds to outline in intricate details why certain plans can't work out but never its solutions.
It poses like a problem in a business plan and a business plan is never complete without its solution. Creating the solution would be up to you, dear fear has highlighted the problem, highlighting the loopholes that would cause a strait in your goals and that should help you prepare better.
Fear=Lack of preparation
Fear to take that test because you know you aren't as prepared as you should be (unless you're in University of Lagos and your test is CBT at ETC, you have every reasons to fear, that computer has a mind of its own). Fear is alarming you that there's a possibility of failure due to lack of adequate preparation and maybe an endearing third party. Hi Failure
Fear that your body might fail you because you've not been dedicated to its care unless you have a hereditary illness and if you do, fear would only make the living condition worsen hence hypertension, strokes, heart attack( too much blood pressure ).
I'm not disputing the presence of innate phobias and also PTSD which subject victims to fear. (And I would be working on a post about that too).
Any time you feel a disruption in your productivity it might as well be exhaustion and also fear and it's to your advantage to make effective use of it to enhance productivity, I did say it was an alarm bell.
Is it irrational to state that the perfect ally for productivity is fear?
I see you've read this content to this point and indeed I'm impressed . Thanks for visiting this part-time blog and lazy blogger ; ^ Stay safe.
