YOLO?

Carpe Diem - Seize the day, put very little trust in tomorrow.

   We can proudly say we all are familiar or subtle with the term YOLO aka You Only Live Once. This term is sometimes associated with freedom, fun,love, rebellion, lawlessness,and exploration

But do you really only live once? Yeah, yeah, I can see what's going on in your head, " what's she ranting about now? 😏". Yes I am asking if you really get to live once.

Love, sex, beauty,fame,betrayal,wealth, family etc. It's like our life line is starting to be based on what the media potrays and what people perceive of us,at some point in life we all feed on this things ,you wish to find love in the most beautiful place and splendid moments as portrayed by the script players you see on your screen or the telenovals you watch and it glamours the 'perfect' love, you want to experience the love and affections and also pleasure that one could find most delightful in sex. You want the world to see you and be an admiration to be looked upon, you want to be the 'toast of Paris', you want to be in the spotlight,you want the most opulent things.

Most times we seek a freedom we imagine in our heads ,freedom to do certain things without being judged freedom to act certain ways without being scorned, we want to do it now and regret tomorrow.
We seem to forget that you only live once ,living for a moment really is more than the freedom you desire for the moment,that moment alone can cause you years in despair and regret, you seem to forget you're leaving a footprint on the sand of time, when we die,we live in each people's hearts.

I did things in a day that gave me peace for years and utmost bliss and I also did things in a day that made me regret every single minute I breathe.
I wanted to blend in and be a reflection of others,I created a personality that wasn't truly mine to blend in and I'd say acting a particular way for too long can take a toll on you.
Sometimes we don't admit it but the social media is starting to become our manual, your YOLO is starting to be determined by what the media defines as the perfect way to live. We forget to define ourselves and spend the rest of our lives in other people's shadows and personalities without even realising it.

We live forever in people's minds,we create an impact when we live and still when we die.
